I began walking the birthkeeper path in 2017, and completed my training with Red Tent Doulas. I have taken further studies in postpartum ‘mother warming’ traditions, and this summer I am excited to go even deeper into my learning about traditional postnatal care.
As a doula my role is to provide emotional, informational and practical support at every stage of the journey to parenthood, but my biggest loves are preparing for and supporting the postnatal period (however you define that for yourself); community building to combat the loneliness many people feel in new-parenthood; holding space for mothers to feel ALL the feelings, without judgement; and honouring birth as a rite of passage, walking alongside those who are experiencing the journey as a transformational, sacred event.
I work in and around the Dumfries area as an antenatal, postnatal and occasionally birth doula, and am preparing online offerings to support families further afield which will be available later this year.
A bit more about me: I am originally from south London (people are often surprised by my accent!) I became a mother in 2019, and I love exploring the wilder places, getting my hands dirty in my garden, reading anything and everything, writing, and trying to cultivate a simpler life.
